Using 4G with Bactosure devices

If you are within 4G NB-IoT coverage, you can add 4G capability to your Bactosure device to connect automatically over the mobile network.

This option is ideal if your network security settings prevent Wi-Fi connection or if you want to run tests in locations without Wi-Fi access.

NB-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things) is a specialised type of 4G mobile network designed for devices that send small amounts of data.

It provides wider coverage, lower power use, and more reliable connectivity, even in places where normal mobile signals might struggle to reach.

In many areas, NB-IoT coverage extends further than standard 4G mobile coverage, making it a great option for remote or hard-to-reach sites.

Australia:

Use the Telstra IoT coverage map and select the “NB-IoT” option.

New Zealand:

Use the Spark coverage map and select the “NB-IoT” option.
