The 4G NB-IoT (Narrowband Internet of Things) upgrade lets your Bactosure testing unit connect automatically to the mobile network – no Wi-Fi required. Designed for remote or hard-to-reach areas, this upgrade ensures your unit stays online and continues sending secure results, even when local Wi-Fi networks are unstable or unavailable.
This option is ideal if your network security settings prevent Wi-Fi connection or if you want to run tests in locations without Wi-Fi access.
NB-IoT is a special type of 4G network built for smart devices that send small amounts of data. It offers:
- Wider coverage – signals travel further and reach deeper than standard 4G, even underground or inside buildings.
- Low power use – designed for energy efficiency to extend device uptime.
- Reliable connectivity – prioritised signal handling, ideal for remote and rural locations.
In many areas, NB-IoT coverage extends further than standard 4G mobile coverage, making it a great option for remote or hard-to-reach sites.
